Ali Larter - The Quest's Rear of the Year 2006

There was really one one possible choice. Although there were very strong contenders, Ali wins hands down. Or Pants down to be more precise.

Her bottom is as close to perfection as we have seen this year. A special thank you to both her and the directors and producers of the show "Heroes" for letting us see so much of it. I hope you continue to explore her naughty and nice sides by showing us much more in 2007. It's a great show for many reasons, not just this one.

So that's it for 2006. The Quest continues in 2007. It's hard to imagine a more perfect bottom than Ali's, however we are going to keep searching until we find the ultimate and most perfect specimen there could ever be.

In the meantime enjoy a little more of Ali in little more than panties from the first episode of "Heroes"

4. Alexa Davalos - The Chronicles of Riddick

I hadn't forgotten about my SciFi Bottom 10 list. Here's entry number 4. I first saw Alexa in Season 4 of Angel as Gwen Raiden, and you can find some of her wonderful red leather pants clad ass screen shots below. One thing you can always be sure of in any Joss Whedon produced show is that there will be seriously hot women, his taste is impeccable.

Riddick is a very good movie. It falls short of being a great movie for reasons I'm really not clear about. I find it really hard to find any fault in any aspect of the movie, but somehow when you add all these skilled elements together it amounts to a good movie rather than a great one. What they needed to add is not something I can figure out. Although, more of Alexa would certainly have made me happy.

One lucky character gets to run his hands over her bum in one scene, although he does pay the ultimate price for the experience.

Alexa spends most of the movie clad in seriously tight army pants. These describe her curves closer than the leather pants. In the pics here you can just see the slightest bit asscrack too. Maybe not obvious due to the quality of the pics, however if one was, for example, to see the movie projected and blown up onto your wall, and were to go and look really closely you can see it quite well. Um, not that I necessary have done that...

Alexa is certainly one of the hottest women in showbusiness; directors and producers, you need to be hiring her more often.

Kim Novak - Bewitching Bottom

The Movie is Bell, Book and Candle. Kim Novak is a witch, in a tale that I assume inspired the TV show Bewitched. A glorious Technicolor Tiki treatise on a side of Fifties life we seldom saw. If this weren't enough, it has Jimmy Stewart and Jack Lemmon too.

The tight ski pants would have been enough. The tight ski pants, husky voice and spellbinding witch's powers make you wish she was really a sorceress.

Or She could've made you dizzy in Vertigo.

Either way, take a moment to fall under the spell of her ASSets.

Jennifer Anniston - Just because...

I found another pic. One of my favorite Friends moments.

Beyoncé Knowles - Dreamgirls, Foxxy Cleopatra

It's an odd name. It always makes me think of "bouncy", I doubt I am alone.

Anyway, I have no idea if Dreamgirls is bouncy. Not rushing to find out either, don't care for the music and the subject matter seems a bit too girly. I am also very suspicious at the hype this movie has been receiving - this is very rarely a sign of a good movie, in my experience.

Now it's not easy to find rear shots of Miss Knowles, and perhaps it's just the light, but these swimming pool shots seem to suggest why.

Kirsten Dunst - Marie Antoinette

I never expected to write about Kirsten. I saw her through Spidermanesque senses, namely one of erect nipples and wet t-shirts. It's what many wanted, but not I.

Then there was the Daily Show incident. Kirsten arrives to promote Marie Antoinette. Kirsten tries to sit in the wrong chair, Kirsten giggles through the whole interview. Kirsten seldom mentions the movie and then only when prompted by Jon. I formed an impression of Kirsten that was one of a likable girl, but one with boobs and no brains.

Famously, Marie Antoinette the movie was booed at Cannes. It had very limited release anywhere.

A tragedy, because Sofia Coppolla is a uniquely talented director and this film is one of her best. Kirsten is perfectly cast as a selfish airhead. The costume design and production design is stunning; in particular with the use of color. Handheld camera adds intimacy and documentary. The Busby Berkeley shoe and candy montage in the middle of the movie is powerful, humorous and visually splendid. Indeed the editing is much stronger in this movie than in her previous ones. Her use of music is fascinating, Rameau ranging with a rococo rendition of Siouxsie and the Banshees, and any movie that plays "Ceremony" by Joy Division gets my vote. It's a painting of decadence and corruption without ever being preachy and overstated.
Imagine Paris Hilton running a country and having real power over people's lives. It's no wonder the French revolted.

All of this adds up to a really good movie. Better yet, you get to see Kirsten's bare bum, as these pics show.

So, do see this movie if you can find it. It's really worth it, both movie and bum are delightful.

Diane Kruger - Troy's Helen

I should have thought of this earlier. Helen of Troy. In fact it only occurred to me while watching Poseidon the other day. Troy and Poseidon share the same director, namely Wolfgang Peterson.

Although it's hard to tell. Please do not waste any time watching Poseidon. That's and hour and a half I've lost forever. There's no nice bottoms in it - despite the fact that it has attractive actresses who spend the majority of the film wet. They are extremely unsexy throughout. There is talent throughout the movie, unfortunately it seems that this didn't include the writer or the producers. It's one of those we-did-it-for-the-money-movies, and it stinks of it, so don't give them any.

Anyway, Troy is a much better movie, still not a patch on Das Boot, but better nonetheless.

Wolfgang, according to IMDb, didn't want to cast Helen because no actress could live up to the role. He was right. Diane was cast regardless. Although she is pretty, her performance is awful. She narrowly missed getting a Razzie for worst supporting actress for this movie. I feel she was unfairly overlooked.

During the few lines she has her accent wobbles noticeably. Helen, to have been the woman that caused such a long and bitter war, must have been more than simply physically beautiful. Diane doesn't seem to be. She lacks charisma, she lacks passion, she lacks warmth, she lacks soul, she lacks humor. She's just, well... stereotypically German; not in the least Greek. Her face may launch a thousand ships, but in the first sign of adversity those same ships would turn back. She wouldn't be worth the effort. With Modeling she would have kept the mystery, acting spoils that for good.

However, a fine ass she does indeed have. Here it is in its naked splendor for you to enjoy.

Shakira - Perfect Posterior Pop

If for no other reason than she's encouraged a million women to dress the same way. Sadly not everyone fills those tight jeans quite the way she does.

She's hot, latin, can sing, moves magnificently and has considerably more class than Britney (but then who doesn't?).

In the hiney dept, Britney fails miserably. So here's more Shakira shaking some tail feathers.

Marilyn Monroe - A Classic Rear

While I do appreciate her skill as a comedy actress, and have always enjoyed her movies, I've never entirely understood her sex appeal. I find that the majority of people telling me how hot she is are either women or gay men. They seem more infatuated with her as a tragic heroine than as a real person.

I've seldom found straight men mention her at all, and those that do are usually breast men. Certainly her movies were provocative and sexy for the time they were made, even if they would be considered tame by modern standards.

But then I found these pictures...

I can only wonder how she would have been photographed were she a young star today, and how she would rate amongst other contemporary stars. If only such a thing were possible. Perhaps she would rival Denise Richards for hottness, Charisma Carpenter for womanliness, and Parker Posey for comedic ability. There are far too few female comedy stars in the movies, these days.

Katie Rees - (ex) Miss Nevada Thong

Seems Katie’s been naughty, kissing girls and pulling down her pants as shown here. So she’s no longer Miss Nevada. But Thongs for the memories anyway.

Jessica Biel - Some more pics and some video

Derek Jeter has everything. Money , talent, a starting spot on the most successful sports franchise in history, a pretty much guaranteed HOF spot, and also Jessica Biel.

And he seems to be a nice guy too. He waves to kids from the on deck circle.

Jealous? Am I? Why, yes...

Here's reasons why:

5. Milla Jovovich - Ultraviolet

Yes, I know. Milla again. I'm not obsessed, nor even a huge fan of hers, but her butt gets good treatment from directors. As, indeed, it should.

Ultraviolet is a curious movie. It's director, Kurt Wimmer, showed real original talent with "Equilibrium". Ultraviolet shows that that talent is still there. It is visually stunning.

But... It's not a good movie, and from what I have read the studio interfered considerably in the production. Sony, you know, that customer friendly company that really has its finger on the pulse of the consumer? Yes, that's the one, they did it. There is apparently 40 minutes cut out from the original shoot. The cinematic release starts with a voice over explaining the universe and the background to the movie. Probably only made necessary by the death of a thousand cuts the studio made.

When you have to do a voice over, you've most probably completely failed to tell the story properly in a movie. (I offer the studio interfered with Bladerunner cinematic release, versus the Directors Cut edition as evidence)

There is enough evidence to show that if Ultraviolet ever gets a directors cut version it could be a very good movie indeed. Unfortunately that just can't ever be said of the cinematically released garbage.

Anyway, the reason that I have rated this movie so highly is that therein Milla is perfectly costumed, and indeed framed from behind. Though it may be computer enhanced, there is also a brief bare bottom shot too.

Delightful.

6. Rebecca Romijn - X-Men

Kudos to whomever thought that it would be a much better idea to dispense with an actual costume per se and just paint her blue. Nice touch, give them more work please.

She could have been stronger in the movie, and each X-men movie has successively suffered from too many more characters than the one previous, allowing little depth to any of them.

There were some other actresses to choose from in the movie, but Rebecca was really one hotter than them. I would have preferred more lingering shots on her, and she probably would have looked better if they’d done something different to her hair.

Still these pictures won’t make you blue, that’s for sure.

Michelle Trachtenberg - Black Christmas

There's been protests. Christian groups are upset at a horror movie being released at Christmas. Although, seems none of them mentioned Apocalypto in their criticism. Hmmm, I wonder why?

Anyway, I haven't seen either and I'm not going to. I'm not a fan of horror movies myself other than the occasional James Whale or Hammer Classic. I am a fan of Miss Trachtenberg, who stars in Black Christmas, and have been ever since she mysteriously materialized as Buffy's sister. Seeing these pictures one can only be further impressed.

Eva Green - The Dreamers

I thought I'd dig around a bit and try and find some more pics of Eva. Here's some screen caps from The Dreamers.

They are exquisite.

It's a beautiful movie from the Director of "Ultimo tango a Parigi" and "The Last Emperor", and also a most beautiful bottom from Eva.

Again, if you have not seen this movie you really must. There's much more of Eva to see than just these caps. The Dreamers also has wonderful costume and production design, and is an interesting story well directed.

Mr Bertolucci, thank you.

These are most certainly not safe for work. You have been warned.

7. Kim Basinger - My Stepmother is an Alien

Yes, the story and many scenes were almost entirely and obviously ripped from Barbarella. Yes, it’s an overwritten cynical corporate attempt at comedy. What was that red dress with the hoopy thing all about? And OMG, just how eighties is this movie? Some movies don’t date well, sci-fi especially, and this is one that is stuck forever in the time of big shoulders and bigger hair.

However, let it not be forgotten that Kim Basinger was probably the hottest woman of the Eighties and is still pretty hot today. Her performance here is probably not as exciting as that in Nine and a Half Weeks, not is she acting as well as she did in LA Confidential, but as Celeste she’s still pretty hot nonetheless.

Time Person of the Year 2006

Yay, we've won!

We're Time magazine's Person of the Year 2006. I guess folks at Time appreciate a perfectly formed posterior as much as the rest of us.

Though... I think that isn't what they intended...

You see the Time Magazine Person of the Year 2006 is "You". Or "Us" from our point of view, or you from yours. Confused yet?

They were honoring the likes of Bloggers, YouTube filmmakers (except those pirating Warner Bros TV shows and movies likely), and those poor souls that braved permanent damage by Yahoo in managing get pics listed on Flickr.

Death by Yahoo... Yahooed... Verb it, and it has a whole different connotation to Googled...

Still, although folks at Time haven't necessarily honored this blog in particular, I do like to think of them as fans. They (as their Warner Bros distribution co) did bring Terminator 3 to the World. This movie being one example of assartistry.

Sometimes I seriously wonder about the new Firefox spell checking ability. From which century did they pull the dictionary? It recognizes very few words from the past 10 years. The thing that brought this up though was that it doesn't recognize "Yahoo".

Odd, because it is not only the name of a company that sort-of-one-time-did-some-sort-of -indexing-searchy-thing-but-now does-godknowswhat...

...something-to-do-with-peanut-butter....

seemingly...

A Yahoo is also a word coined by Swift in the early 18th Century. A more apt name for the company that bears it doesn't exist. I have said that before, but it needs repetition.

So it seems that Firefox must be using a dictionary from a time prior to about 1720...

Odd.

Happy Birthday Milla!

Milla is 31 today, and I know I posted some pics of her a few days ago, but here's some more.
