I think I know why Studio 60 is on hiatus (probably not to be seen again).
I love Aaron Sorkin's work, as I've mentioned here before. His writing is great, the casting superb, and Thomas Schlamme's direction really adds dynamic movement and drama into subjects that would otherwise be plodding.
However, in his previous series - Sports Night and The West Wing - the number of attractive bottoms was profound. Choose from Sabrina Lloyd, Felicity Huffman, Teri Polo, Janel Moloney, Mary Louise Parker, Alison Janney to name but a few. Their attire, and Schlamme's camera direction often led to excellent passing glimpses that would enhance an evening's viewing.
Not so Studio 60. Amanda Peet is a great looking woman, and not a bad actress. However, there was no evidence of her talents, artistically or posteriorly in the show. Sarah Paulson did get the chance to show off her acting abilities, but did we see her bottom? No.
Joking aside, it was a good show. Extremely talented cast - Perry and Whitford together really worked well; hopefully we'll get to see that pairing somewhere else. Just not entirely sure the show had the forward momentum of Sorkin's previous work. Would that have changed as it developed - probably, but I fear we'll never now know.
